Whether you’re a local or coming from further afield, there is something for everybody to enjoy and we can’t wait to see the town busy at its best. 

Events To Watch Out For

• SUNDAY 23RD OCTOBER (10:00-15:00) | Autumn Festival of Food and Drink

Free entry to a broad selection of food traders and street sellers – a great event for foodies! 

• SATURDAY 29TH OCTOBER (8:00-13:30) | Halloween Market

South Molton’s regular market but featuring guess the weight of the pumpkin and face painting! Ideal for kids and families at the tail end of half term.

• FRIDAY 4TH NOVEMBER (16:00-20:00) | Firework Display Market & Free Firework Display

A one-off Friday market including food stalls and a bar to celebrate South Molton’s Fireworks Display (19:00 in the South Molton Central Car Park)! Come and join us for a drink in The George afterwards!

• FRIDAY 18TH NOVEMBER (17:00-20:00) | South Molton Christmas Light Turn-On Event

The Traditional South Molton Christmas Light Switch on with live music, stalls, mini golf and inflatables! A great event for all the family!!

Based on Broad Street in central South Molton, you’ll have easy access to a great selection of local shops and eateries, the pannier market and the town itself. Our ‘home away from home’ hotel is the perfect place to set yourself up to be in amongst it all. We have a range of rooms available, we’re a dog-friendly hotel, and we pride ourselves on delivering a quality stay to everybody who comes through our doors. 

The George is also home to a comfortable, cosy lounge bar! Open to all for coffee and cake, or a pint of something in the evening (including several local favourites), we’d love the opportunity to welcome you if you’re in the local area! We may even add a few festive nibbles to our regular menu for Christmas.
